Champion Lubricants Launches Partnership With Bmw Motorrad World Endurance Team
In light of the iconic 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps returning to the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), Champion Lubricants and the BMW MOTORRAD World Endurance Team are joining forces in a thrilling new partnership. As a committed Technical Partner, Champion will support the team through the next three seasons of the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC).
With a passion for performance, leading-edge lubricant innovations and world-class motorsport, Champion’s three-year commitment to the BMW MOTORRAD World Endurance Team will see its ground-breaking lubricant formulations tested in some of the most demanding race conditions. The team will maximise performance and reliability with racing lubricants based upon Champion’s exceptional PRO RACING GP line, which incorporates the brand’s highly innovative ESTER+ and ADAPTIVE SHIELD technologies.
The partnership comes at the beginning of an exciting chapter for the EWC, with the series returning to Spa-Francorchamps in June 2022 for the first time since 2003. The track is located near both the BMW MOTORRAD World Endurance Team’s technical development centre as well as the global headquarters of Champion Lubricants. As such, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be an excellent opportunity for both members of the partnership to celebrate their Belgian roots.
While the full season is still being finalised, here are some of the upcoming dates in the 2022 FIM EWC calendar:
- 16-17 April:24 Heures Moto (Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, France)
- 4-5 June:24H SPA EWC Motos (Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium)
- 7 August:Suzuka 8 Hours (Suzuka Circuit, Japan)
- 17-18 September:Bol d’Or (Circuit Paul Ricard, France)
With high-performance machines and gruelling races, EWC teams require game-changing lubricants that minimise engine friction and internal temperatures while simultaneously ensuring that all parts are well lubricated to prevent wear, pitting and corrosion. It is the perfect test environment for new motorcycle lubricant technologies and complementary products, with close engineering and technical collaboration allowing Champion Lubricants and BMW MOTORRAD Motorsport to jointly develop new racing lubricants.
