Evoke presents electric performance motorbike

The 120 kW electric motor of the electric bike delivers power for a top speed of 230 km/h, the liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of 24.8 kWh is supposed to allow a range of 265 kilometres, in city traffic even up to 470 kilometers. With the 24.8 kWh, the Evoke even outperforms the revised electric motorcycles from Energica, which come to 21 kWh. The Harley LiveWire, on the other hand, only has a 15.5 kWh battery.

In addition, the Evoke 6061 is quick-charging: On a DC charger with 125 kW, it only takes 15 minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 80 per cent. Evoke promises a charging rate of 25 kilometres per minute, which means the tires would hardly have a chance to cool off during the stop. Alternatively, there is a 1.8 kW onboard charger for AC charging. Here again, the comparison with LiveWire: charging to 80 per cent is indicated here as 40 minutes.

With these ranges and charging capacities, real tours on an electric motorbike seem possible or rather easier. Depending on riding style and topography, two to three hours of riding should be possible. If a suitable fast charger is available, the breaks will also be limited.

Evoke is not aiming at your average biking commuter with this electric motorcycle. For this clientele, the Chinese company has a different model range on offer. Two figures are likely to make its use as a commuter electric motorcycle unlikely anyway: The 6061 is limited to 100 units in the “Signature Series”. And Evoke Motorcycles is calling for a price of 24,995 US dollars for the electric motorcycle. Pre-orders are now available for 5,000 US dollars. This technology is not available at a bargain price.

Despite the heavy down payment, there is not yet any indication of when the bike will be delivered. According to Evoke, the official release date will be confirmed: “at a later date”.
